Growtern Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Growtern”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform at Growtern.in.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account data: Name, email address, password (hashed), phone number, and role (student / recruiter).
  • Profile data: College, degree, graduation year, skills, resume URL, LinkedIn/GitHub/portfolio URLs, bio.
  • Application data: Cover letters and resume submissions made through the platform.
  • Payment data: Billing details processed via our payment gateway (Razorpay). We do not store card numbers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system.
  • Pages visited, time on site, and referral URLs (via cookies and analytics).

1.3 Google OAuth

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To match students with relevant internship and job listings.
  • To process applications and send notifications.
  • To send transactional emails (OTP, application updates, password reset).
  • To improve our platform through analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Recruiters: Student names, email (when they apply), and resume data are shared with recruiters you apply to.
  • Service providers: Neon (database), Resend (email), Razorpay (payments), Vercel (hosting). All governed by DPAs.
  • Legal requirements: When required by Indian law or a valid court order.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@Growtern.in. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days.

5. Cookies

We use essential session cookies (NextAuth) and analytics cookies (Vercel Analytics). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access control. However, no system is 100% secure — use a strong, unique password.

7. Children's Privacy

Growtern is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has registered, contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

  • Access and download your data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We'll notify you via email or an in-app notice for material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
